Hi, I’m Serena.

I walk beside others through big changes. I’m here as a doula alchemizing the lessons of life, especially those from birth - to share with the world what we all need more of:

authenticity

radical self-acceptance

deep connection

Some folks call me “The People’s Strawberry”. If that’s cheesy, then I’m here for it. I grew up in a remote northern community in Ontario. At 13 I ended up catching my bestie’s dog’s puppies as she gave birth, learning first hand how to help with a runt stuck in his amniotic sack (it was the 90’s and our parent were at work-that was normal) I was a nerd with a penchant for encyclopedias and oral tradition. I grew up with stories of my grandmother raising 8 children in a logging camp and my father shared stories of jumping in wild rivers in the jungle of India with a herbalist and animal loving mother. He was born in Gujurat. Somewhere along the way I found something that stopped me in my tracks: my womb was a genius and that birth in all forms is a super power. While studying anthropology and learning about the indigenous language family groups in BC, I also learned how the humble strawberry shows up in countless creation stories. It’s a symbol of growth, sweetness, and the cycles of life.

I love bright and calm spaces while I don’t believe in empty positivity. After 20 years of seeing all of the outcomes of birth, I’m here to do the deep work. Change can be tough even when we welcome it. In the world of reproductive health, there is so much inspiration from age-old experience to offer strategy and audits of our body’s communication and flow. This is what I call Archival Intelligence. Drawing from the wisdom of traditional knowledge keepers who have thrived in their sweetness and strength, I grow best when I grow alongside others. Through breathwork, meditation, and dream guidance, I help you stay grounded, connected, and attuned to your own power. By looking at how you are feeling in your relationship to birth, I can quickly understand how safety is showing up in your body and how you are stepping into the leadership and strength of being a parent and/or ally to babies and children (I work with extended family members as well). Everything you feel shows up behaviorally. There is an innate sweetness in our nervous system, and I am here to bring strategies to stop energetic leaks and highlight how exquisite the language of life truly is.

As a nerd, martial artist and seasoned wisdom keeper in the childbirth arts, I trust the alchemy between intuition, culture, and science. I’m not here to fix or to convince anyone that there is “one ideal way” to approach birth. I’m here to guide you through your fears, helping you rise into your most authentic, full and calm self. To claim the freedom of mind, body, and heart that is your birthright. Our mental health and liberation are sacred responsibilities.

With 10 years of hosting hundreds of women gathering at my weekly postpartum groups, I know first hand the inevitability of folks NEEDING community. It’s time to find new ways of relating, with ourselves and each other.

I’ve learned how sweetness is wonderful, while a set point of growth is essential. Rooted in oral history and tradition, our offerings are like fruit that’s been stretched and savored for centuries. With seeds that glow and grow in the form of classes and 1:1 support I readily share while collaborating in community. That’s what makes me “the people’s strawberry”.

On a personal note, I find space to play and pray in the mountains or on my back floating in the ocean. I need this after a days work (or night!) of helping others discover their blocks and unpack their next level ways of showing up for themselves and their power.

I’ve spent many years living off-grid and now teach people about the power of the human body and our subconscious and animalistic parts that are both familiar and coherent during childbirth and throughout our everyday lives. This is my modality in addition to being in the garden year round.

Count me in if you need help weeding while talking about boundaries and how you can glow-up in your body intuition and flow… in your own golden garden.
